This chapter was amended in April 2017, Children who have Gone Missing from Home or Care, Section 12: Safeguarding Children Missing from Education as the DfE has updated its Statutory Guidance for Local Authorities: Children Missing Education (September 2016) resulting from changes in the The Education (Pupil Registration (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2016 after concerns raised about the numbers of children missing education who may be at risk.
